Carol F. Barnes, age 69, of the Spout Springs Road, Cave Springs, died Saturday evening, February 20th, 2010 at the residence.
A native of Fulton County, Georgia, Mrs. Barnes was born on October 5th, 1940, the daughter of Iris Grant Fields and the late J.B. Fields. She was a homemaker and a member of the Cave Springs Baptist Church. Mrs. Barnes was married on December 12th, 1957 to Julian James "J.J." Barnes who preceded her in death on January 29th, 2006.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Kathryn Annette and Michael Wayne Cantrell of Cave Springs, GA.; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, James Michael and Un Son Barnes of Anniston, Ala. and David Marc and Patti Lynn Barnes of Cave Springs, GA.; 7 grandchildren, Kathryn Cantrell Rogers and her husband, Michael Rogers, Caleb James Cantrell, Michael James Barnes, Kathryn Elaine Barnes, Jeremy Naugher, Julia Lynn and Jessica Lynn Barnes, Carol's mother, Iris G. Fields of Rome. Nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Carol F. Barnes will be held on Wednesday afternoon, February 24th, 2010 at 2 o'clock from the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home with Dr. Alan D. Hix and Mr. Harlin Terry officiating with interment to follow in the family lot of the Cave Springs Cemetery.
Mrs. Barnes will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel where the family will receive friends this (Tuesday) evening from 7 until 9 o'clock. At other hours they will be at the residence.
The following will serve as active pallbearers, J. Michael Barnes, Michael J. Barnes, Michael Cantrell, Caleb Cantrell, Ricky Rogers and Steve Carroll. Honorary pallbearers include, William Potts, Bruce Floyd, Jeff Crider and Michael Rogers.
