Billy Junior Rickett

Billy Rickett, age 78, of #621 Warren Road NE, Rome, died Sunday afternoon, July 8th, 2007 at his residence.
A native of Trion, GA., Mr. Rickett was born on September 15th, 1928, the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Rickett. He had spent the greater part of his life in Floyd County and was a member of the East Rome Baptist Church. Mr. Rickett was a member of the Oostanuala Masonic Lodge and Low 12 Club. For a period of time, Mr. Rickett was associated with Floyd County Solid Waste and prior to his retirement, he was associated with Burlington Mills.
Survivors include his wife, Yvonne Virginia Bobo Rickett to whom he was maiired on April 12th, 1963, a daughter, Nancy Canada of Rome; 1 granddaughter, Nicole Canada of Rome; 1 grandson, Bart Canada of Rome. Several step-brothers and step-sister also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Rickett will be held this (Tuesday) afternoon, July 10th, 2007, at 2:30 p.m. from the graveside of East View Cemetery with the Rev. David Thornton and Dr. Larry Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot of East View Cemetery.
The family will receive friends this (Tuesday) afternoon from 1 until 2 o'clock. At other hours they will be at the residence.
