Billy Franklin Shaw

Billy Franklin "Bill" Shaw, age 68, of #700 Little Egypt Road, Summerville, GA. passed away Sunday night, May 25th, 2008 at Redmond Regional Medical Center in Rome.
Bill was born in Bartow County, Georgia on March 22nd, 1940 the son of late Leland Franklin Shaw and the late Georgia Alta Yarbrough Shaw. He had been a resident of Chattooga County for the past 21 years moving there from Rome and was of the Baptist Faith. Bill was a Vietnam veteran having served in the United States Army and was a graduate of Johnson High School. Prior to his retirement Bill was associated with General Electric of Rome as an electrician.
Survivors include his wife, Johnnie Wilson Shaw to whom he was married on September 4th, 1964; 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Monica and Chris Barker of Cedartown, Marcia and Dusty McCollister of Summerville and Mallory Adams of Summerville; a son, Billy Franklin Shaw, II of Summerville; 7 grandchildren, P.J. Broome, Samantha Barker, Amy Broome, Joey Sarge, Suzie Adams, Dusty McCollister, Jr. and Jessi Lynn McCollister, a sister, Betty Ann Smith of Plainville, Ga.; 2 brothers, Norman Shaw of Calhoun and James Shaw of Rome. Nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Billy Franklin "Bill" Shaw will be held on Thursday morning, May 29th 2008 at 11:00 o'clock from the graveside at the Mills Cemetery on Haywood Valley Road, (Chattooga County) with Mr. Jodie Rowell officiating. Interment will follow in the Mills Cemetery.
Bill will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel of Rome where the family will receive friends this (Wednesday) evening from 6 until 8 o'clock. At other hours they will be at the residence.
