Mrs. Betty Ann Quinton Bishop, age 83, of Rome, GA, passed away Monday morning, June 5, 2017, at her residence.
A native of Rome and Floyd County, Mrs. Bishop was born on July 16, 1933, a daughter of the late Hollis Clifford Quinton and Magnolia "Nola" Whitfield Quinton. She was a 1950 graduate of McHenry High School, a member of the Rome Church of Christ and was a homemaker. Mrs. Bishop was married on April 3, 1950, to Robert Edward "Bob" Bishop, Sr, who preceded her in death on February 18, 2012. Also preceding her in death were her parents, two brothers, Harold Quinton and Gene Quinton, and a sister, Lillian Ellison Crane.
Mrs. Bishop is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Tanya and Chris Gray of Calhoun, GA; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Robert E. "Bobby" Bishop, Jr., and David M. and Lisa Bishop, all of Rome; grandchildren, Robert E. Bishop, III., Morgan Bishop, Caitlin Gray, Christopher Gray and Johnathan Gray; a sister-in-law, Gail Bishop. A host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Ann Bishop will be held on Wednesday morning, June 7, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens with Minister Steve Rogers officiating. Interment will follow.
In honoring Mrs. Bishop's wishes, there will be no visitation.
