Bethy Everett Miller, age 91, of Everett Springs, died Wednesday morning, March 25th, 2009 at Golden Living HealthCare of Rome.
A native of Floyd County, Mrs. Miller was born on October 29th, 1917, the daughter of the late Flaveous J. and Minnie Terry Everett. She had spent her entire life in Floyd County and was a member of the Everett Springs Baptist Church where she served as church pianist for several years and taught the Beginners Sunday School Class. She was a member of the Everett Springs Home Demonstration Club. Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by 2 sons, Frank and Travis Miller, by a daughter, Linda Barnett and 7 brothers and 1 sister. Mrs. Miller was married in March of 1935 to S. Leon Miller who preceded her in death in 1988.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Baxter Burke of Calhoun, Ga.; 3 sons and 2daughters-in-law, Gail Miller of Armuchee, Hudon and Becky Miller of Armuchee and Tim and Ann Miller of Everett Springs; 10 grandchildren, Melanie Ruhlman, Paula and Carla Burke, Tammy Stine, Tara Smith, John and Jason Miller, Jeff Barnett, Mark Miller and Julie Stewart. 10 great-grandchildren also survive.
A Celebration of Life service for Bethy Everett Miller will be held on Friday afternoon, March 27th, 2009 at 2 o'clock at the Everett Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert M. Skelton and the Rev. Edward E. Holsomback officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot of the Everett Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Miller will lie-in-state at the Everett Springs Baptist Church on Friday from 1 until 2 o'clock.
Grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Miller will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel where the family will receive friends this (Thursday) evening from 6 until 8 o'clock. At other hours they will be at their respective homes.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Everett Springs Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 2167 Everett Springs Road, Armuchee, Georgia 30105.
