Bessie Lucille Tate

Bessie Lucille Tate, age 97, of Rome, passed away on April 27, 2016. She was born in Floyd County on April 8, 1919 daughter of the late W.D. Early and Sudie Wood Early. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sherman Ayers; two sons, Max and Dan Ayers; sister, Grace Pettyjohn; brothers Elbert, R.C., William and Earl Early.

Survivors include her husband Tom Tate; daughters, Alice Faye Gay, Charlotte Karl and Anita Young; several grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive.

She was a retired Nurse. Lucille loved her church and her church family being a member of Friendship Baptist Church for over 50 years.

Graveside services will be on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery on Alabama Highway. Rev. Roger Whorton will be officiating.
