Bernice Alma Carroll

Bernice McEntyre Carroll, age 95, a lifelong resident of Turkey Mountain Road, Rome, passed away August 8th, 2010.

Mrs. Carroll was born in Gordon County, Georgia on January 29th, 1915, the daughter of the late Frank and Lula Patterson McEntyre. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Silver Creek Primitive Baptist Church. Mrs. Carroll was preceded in death by 8 brothers and sisters and by a granddaughter, Andrea Carroll Morris. She was married in 1935 to Hoyt Wilson Carroll who preceded her in death in 1997.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Gerald and Linda Carroll of Rome; 2 daughters and a son-in-law, Joyce and Rev. Wendell Woodfin of Ellijay, GA. and Gaile Carroll Wood of Mount Olive, Ala.; 5 grandchildren, Keith Woodfin, Rev. Kyle Woodfin and his wife, Alanna, Amy Evans and her husband, Kenny, Wayne Wood, Jr. and his wife, Julie, and Andrew Carroll, 11 great-grandchildren. Nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Bernice McEntyre Carroll will be held this (Tuesday) afternoon, August 10th, 2010 at 4 o'clock from the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home with her grandson, Rev. Kyle Woodfin officiating. Interment will be private for the family at the Wax Cemetery.

Mrs. Carroll will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel where the family will receive friends this (Tuesday) afternoon from 2 until 4 o'clock.

Grandsons will serve as active pallbearers.
