Archie Moss Mangum

Archie M. Mangum, age 73, of #157 Pine Street, Ringgold, Georgia died early Monday morning, December 10th, 2007 at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga.
A native of Piedmont, Alabama, Mr. Mangum was born on December 27th, 1933, the son of the late Archie and Evelyn Ruth Summers Mangum. For a period of time Mr. Mangum was a resident of Floyd County, Georgia. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the Cedar Hill Baptist Church in Ringgold, Ga. Mr. Mangum had been a resident of Ringgold, GA. since 1990 moving to Ringgold from Louisville, KY. Mr. Mangum was a Steel Fabrication Company Plant Manager and was also retired from the Catoosa County Public School System.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Terhune Mangum to whom he was married on November 20th, 1952, 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Katy Mangum of LaGrange, KY, Mark and Debra Mangum of Crestwood, KY. and Brian and Jennifer Mangum of Ringgold, GA.; 6 grandchildren, Lori, Charissa, Aaron, Brooke, Mason and McCain Mangum, 2 sisters, Betty Wrye of Boaz, Ala and Lynn Cross, Paragold, Ark. Nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Mangum will be held on Thursday morning, December 13th, 2007 at 11 o'clock from the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home with Dr. Neal Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Floyd Memory Gardens of Rome.
The following will serve as active pallbearer, Mike Patrick, Carl Cox, LeBron Carden, Bob Ragland, Wayman Sullivan and Bill Wattenbarger.
Mr. Mangum will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel of Rome, Ga. where the family will receive friends this (Wednesday) evening from 6 until 9 o'clock. At other hours they will be at the residence in Ringgold.
