Anthony “Tony” Wayne Green, 56 of Rome passed away April 5, 2023. Tony was proceeded in death by his parents, John Henry Green Jr. and Dixie Sue Griffin Green and sister JoAnn Jarrell also of Rome. He is survived by his siblings John Green of Al, Vickie Hutchens of Calhoun, Dixie “Kitten” Green of GA, and Pamela Poos of AL. Tony is also survived by his son Anthony Keegan Green (Delaney) of Shannon, GA and his grandson Riley Walker Green. Several nieces & nephews also survive. Tony was born and raised in Floyd county and a graduate of East Rome high school.
Tony was an avid hunter. His love of the outdoors knew no bounds. This is a passion he handed down to his son. In later years, they both spent as much time in the woods together as possible. Tony was also a dreamer. He had a mind full of curiosity that was constantly trying to figure out how to make things in his world work smarter not harder. He was a jack of all trades and held various professions over the years. From production workplaces, Galey & Lord of Rome, to outside sales positions, AMR Waste, he worked hard to master any job that usually lead to him taking a supervision role. One of his proudest accomplishments was founding GreenWay Concrete Finishing with his son in August of 2019, where he set the tempo on job sites up til his day of passing. Tony had an endless love and gift for music, which he enjoyed sharing with others. No matter the mood, he never left a room with out making those in it laugh. Although Tony lead a full life of hard work, curiosity and hobbies, his main motivation for anything was his son Keegan. For Tony was not only Keegan’s father but his biggest fan, cheerleader and best friend. One could not run into Tony and leave without him mentioning his love and pride for his son. Tony Green will always be remembered as the light in even the darkest of rooms.
