Andrew Justin Barnes

Andrew Justin "Drew" Barnes, age 24, of #806 Warren Road, Rome, passed away Friday evening, April 15th, 2011 at a Rome hospital.

A native of Floyd County, Drew was born on April 6th, 1987, the son of Steven Lamar Barnes and Regina Shelnutt Barnes. He had spent his entire life in Rome and attended Armuchee High School. Drew was a member of the Floyd Springs Baptist Church, was a student at Tillman Aviation University and was self employed as owner and operator of Briarwood Designs. Drew loved golfing, fishing and hunting and was preceded in death by his grandfather, Freeman Shelnutt in 1998.

Survivors include his parents Steven and Regina Barnes of Rome; a brother, Bradley Barnes of Rome; a grandmother, Louise Shelnutt of Rome, his fianc, H. Brooke Bradshaw of Rome; an aunt, Kim Miller and her husband, Tony of Calhoun, GA.

Funeral services for Drew will be held on Wednesday afternoon, April 20th, 2011 at 2 o'clock from the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home with the Rev. Josh Roberts and the Rev. Edward E. Holsomback officiating. Interment will follow in the New Armuchee Baptist Church Cemetery with Mr. John Payne officiating at the graveside.

The following will serve as active pallbearers, Rick Rood, Brandon Webb, Adam Brown, Shannon Bata, Michael Clonts and Matt Fowler.

Drew will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel where the family will receive friends this (Tuesday) evening from 6 until 9 o'clock. At other hours they will be at the home of his parents at #10 Argon Drive, Rome.
