Albert Thomas "Tommy" Hardin, age 81, of # 56 Rooney Road, Rome passed away Thursday afternoon, May 2, 2013 at Emory Hospital in Atlanta.
A native of Chattooga County, Georgia, Mr. Hardin was born on September 18, 1931the son of the late Elbert Cleveland Hardin and the late Lottie Lynn Dutton Hardin. He had spent the greater part of his life in Floyd County and was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the United States Army. Mr. Hardin attended the Armuchee Church of God, was a Mason and Shriner and was a retired tile setter. Mr. Hardin was preceded in death by family members, B.J. Caldwell, Gary Shawn Hardin and Chris Miles. Mr. Hardin was married on August 13, 1952 to Imogene Waits Hardin who preceded him in death on December 23, 2007.
Survivors include 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Ginger and Tony Rickard of Rome and Norma and Billy Prater of Rome; 2 sons, Danny Hardin of Calhoun and Gary Hardin of Rome. 8 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services for Albert Thomas "Tommy" Hardin will held on Monday afternoon, May 6, 2013 at 1 o'clock from the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home with the Reverend Charles Izell and the Reverend Barry McCullough officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot of Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Hardin will remain at Fred Talley Parkview Chapel where the family will receive friends on Sunday evening, May 5, 2013 from 7 until 9 o'clock. At other hours the family will be at the residence.
The following will serve as active pallbearers, Garner, Billy and Tommy Hardin, James Patterson, Cory Rickard and Ryan Wilson.
